Bedec masonry paint is great for roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement and concrete rendered surfaces, providing a smooth, long lasting finish that stretches up to 400% to prevent further cracking.
Should you be looking to protect exterior masonry, then this paint is the ideal choice for you, it protects brickwork, cement, concrete rendered surfaces, roughcast and pebble-dash. The modified acrylic blend is a flexible microporous protective coating that will flex with the substrate where movement causes cracking in conventional coatings. It can be applied to previously painted surfaces after suitable preparation and used as an anti-carbonation coating to help prevent concrete spalling.
Why use bedec masonry paint?
This type of bedec paint is good to use in bridge hairline cracks which can be found in exterior walls, it’s also suited for the protection of exterior masonry, roughcast, pebble-dash, brickwork, cement and concrete rendered surfaces. Using this bedec masonry paint will guarantee that you receive a smooth, long lasting finish that stretches up to 400%, this will aid the prevention of further cracking after the fine cracks have been bridged.
How to apply bedec masonry paint…
It can be applied with a brush, roller, airless spray, conventional spray or HVLP equipment. It shouldn’t be applied at temperatures below 10 degrees C, or if rain is expected. The paint has a theoretical coverage rate of 10m2 per litre depending on the surface and will also be touch dry in just 2 hours at 20 degrees C, where relative humidity shouldn’t exceed 65%. At this temperature a second coat can be applied after 4 hours, although this time will need to be increased at lower temperatures. If in doubt, allow extra time for the paint to dry.
Make note that bedec masonry paint isn’t recommended for fletton or stock bricks, or to walls coated in limewash.
Surface and environment
Bedec masonry paint can be used on a range of exterior masonry surfaces and works well in the outdoor environment to protect surfaces against further damages caused by weathering. It can be applied to a range of walls and is available in almost every colour.
